Wyredin - Your May edition from Wyre Forest District Council

2024 is our 50^th anniversary year. Wyre Forest District Council was formally established in April 1974 under the Local Government Act 1972. This abolished previous local government structures and created a whole new local government system. We share this milestone with many other councils.

For 50 years, we have proudly served our towns, villages and communities and we continue to deliver quality services.

Also celebrating is Councillor Fran Oborski. Fran is one of the few councillors across England who has continuous service on the same principal authority since the reorganisation of councils brought about by the Local Government Act 1972. Over the years she has taken on many roles including Chair of the Council and Deputy Leader. Congratulations Fran on your outstanding record of unbroken service!
