Flood Update 04.02.2021 10.26am

A band of light rain with occasional heavy showers is forecast to pass over the area from the South this afternoon. Showers are expected across the area from Friday through to Sunday with the more persistent rainfall originally forecast for Saturday now not expected to materialise. We are not expecting significant levels of rainfall or significant impacts from this rain.

No significant rain fell over the area in the last 24 hours with a maximum of 7mm falling over the Afon Vyrnwy and a maximum of 2.5mm elsewhere. As a whole, the area saw less than 1mm of rain fall.

Levels on the Severn in Gloucestershire and Worcestershire are slowly falling or remaining steady. Levels are expected to keep falling over the next few days at all gauges except those in Shropshire and at Bewdley and Worcester where a small rise is still expected through today and into the weekend.

The Flood Guidance Statement (FGS) remains yellow for Worcestershire and Gloucestershire.

The barriers at Severnside Bewdley are still in place.
