Worcestershire libraries to remain open for essential IT and digital services during national lockdown

Sent on behalf of Carol Brown

I am pleased to be able to confirm that all libraries across Worcestershire will continue to support residents from 5th January by providing free access to computers and the internet for people who cannot get online at home. An online ‘Reserve and Collect’ service will replace browsing and borrowing in libraries and customers will be able to return books into drop boxes at library entrances.

The mobile library service will be suspended and study desks will be unavailable until further notice.

Return dates for all existing loans will be extended until 28 February 2021 and no fines or reservation fees will be applied during this time.

Revised opening hours may be implemented at some libraries. Details will be communicated to customers through a number of channels including social media updates, information on local library webpages and e-mails to customers who have subscribed to library marketing.
