PUBLIC NOTICE

             ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

WORCESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF THE CLOSURE OF LAX LANE, BEWDLEY, WORCESTERSHIRE (“THE HIGHWAY”) AND THE COUNTY OF HEREFORD AND WORCESTER (SEVERNSIDE SOUTH, BEWDLEY) (ONE-WAY TRAFFIC) ORDER 1990 (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION) ORDER 2022

 

Reason for restriction: Replacement manhole coverThere is a likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road.  There is a need to close the highway in the following terms:-

 

  1. The effect of this Notice is that no vehicle shall proceed along that part of the highway from its junction with B4194 High Street for a distance of 30 metres in a North Easterly direction.

 

  1. The County of Hereford and Worcester (Severnside South, Bewdley) (One-Way Traffic) Order 1990 is hereby suspended for the duration of the work to facilitate two-way traffic.

 

  1. This provision shall continue in force for a maximum of 21 days, however, it is anticipated that it will remain in force for 1 day commencing 3 October 2022.

 

  1. Alternative routes:Local traffic diversion: B4194 High Street, B4190 High Street, B4190 Load Street, U10500 Severn Side South, U10500 Lax Lane and vice versa. Through traffic clockwise diversion: B4194 High Street, B4190 Load Street, B4190 Beales Corner, B4195 Stourport Road, A456 Stourport Road, B4195 Bewdley Road North, B4195 Bewdley Road, B4195 Worcester Street, A451 Vale Road, A451 Gilgal, A451 Mitton Street, A451 Lion Hill, A451 York Street, A45 Bridge Street, A451 Dunley Road, B4194 Ribbesford Road, B4194 Red Hill, B4194 Lower Park. Through traffic anti-clockwise diversion: B4194 Lower Park, B4194 Red Hill, B4194 Ribbesford Road, A451 Dunley Road, A451 Bridge Street, A451 High Street, A451 Mitton Street, A451 Vale Road, B4195 Bewdley Road, B4195 Bewdley Road North, A456 Stourport Road, B4195 Stourport Road, B4190 Beales Corner, B4190 Load Street, B4194 High Street and vice versa.

 

Nothing in this Notice shall prevent at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the highway, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from and only from the highway.
